MayPall’s story began with an unexpected discovery in a University of Wyoming research lab. While studying how bacteria attach to different surfaces, scientists found that bacteria could stick to most surfaces—except maple. This curious exception sparked a deeper investigation, leading to the identification of powerful anti-biofilm compounds in maple. Could these same maple derived compounds also prevent cavity-causing bacteria from clinging to teeth?
